Americana UK
Bella White is coming to the UK this month with her first stop at Black Deer Festival in Eridge Park, Kent before headline shows at The Glad Cafe in Glasgow and The Lexington in London. Tickets are available here.
The shows will see White performing songs from her latest album Among Other Things, which has stunned critics and fans alike. Her deeply affecting songs and world-weary voice are effortlessly matched with tender soulful melodies and a captivating charm.
Rolling Stone proclaimed White to be “mesmerising live” but to get a taste of what’s to come, you can see a new solo performance of the album track ‘Number’s’ White recently recorded for the world-famous Carter’s Vintage Guitars in Nashville.
When Speaking to Holler, White recalled how she wrote ‘Numbers’ on the day her debut album, Just Like Leaving was released. “I was feeling a little lost,” she says. But when she wrote the song, everything shifted. “I was kind of stream-of-consciousness writing and it felt really natural, but it didn't feel like I was inside of myself. And there was something about it that felt new. It just felt bigger than what I had been thinking, in terms of my songwriting and where I was headed in this next chapter.” Read the full feature on Holler here.
The new album was produced by Jonathan Wilson and features Buck Meek of Big Thief on guitar. Bella teased Among Other Things with a handful of songs that together give the listener a sense of Bella’s remarkable writing and life-long-honed skills as a bluegrass player.
The upcoming UK shows will be a celebration of the new album and sure to be an intimate meeting before the Nashville based singer/songwriter finds herself on larger stages.
After the UK, White will be heading to Europe before going back to the US where she will be performing at a number of US festivals including the Newport Folk Festival.

FURTHER ACCALIM FOR BELLA WHITE
“Bella White stands out as the youngest in her class of breakthrough virtuosos defined by the likes of Billy Strings and Amythyst Kiah. Her poetic poignancy conjures up the palpable devastation from a novice lover whose heart —one brimming with naïve ideas of romance—has shattered into a seemingly irreparable form,”
American Songwriter.
"Sometimes the minute you hear a voice, you know it's for the ages. That's how Canadian Bella White, the daughter of a Virginia bluegrasser, enters the picture. Making her second album now, at 22, White is poised for a major breakthrough. This is her origin story."
NPR
“‘Break My Heart’ is an instant classic”
Folk Alley
"Among Other Things finds her, only two albums in, already stretching beyond what’s expected of her."
No Depression
"Her vocal range is unreal, and her songwriting ability takes complex thoughts and turns them into beautiful melodies."
Whisky Riff
“This is White's second album and, variously accompanied by resonator, baritone and tenor guitars, ably confirms her as a voice and songwriter well worth attention.”
